30 promising electronic music artists will be granted support and various tools to help develop their music and build sustainable future careers.

Applications for the next round of Help Musicians and DJ Mag’s Electronic Music Award are now open.

The annual 12-month career accelerator programme provides funding, opportunities and mentorship to 30 promising electronic music artists. Each awardee will receive up to £3,000 toward a chosen music project, alongside 1-2-1 business advice from industry experts and online meet-ups with other awardees and industry guests. Participants will also be invited to a one-day, expenses-covered peer and industry mixer event in London, and a healthy practice session delivered by BAPAM.

The awards are aimed at artists who have a track record in making income from their music, but who are unable to self-fund the next step in expanding or developing their career. Help Musicians will utilise inclusive selection to ensure creators of all genders, sexual orientations and musicians from the global majority are backed by the award.

The application shortlist will be chosen by a panel of industry experts from across the electronic music ecosystem, with further industry talent offering in-person support throughout the programme.

A limited number of supported artists will also have the opportunity to have their projects platformed by DJ Mag. This will include direct support, including 1‑on‑1 discussions with the staff, as well as networking guidance and editorial coverage.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering once again with DJ Mag to deliver this Award,” Help Musicians shared. “With a heritage that stretches back over 30 years, DJ Mag is one of electronic music’s best-loved brands. A number of artists will have the opportunity for their projects to be platformed by DJ Mag, offering valuable editorial coverage to help them grow their audience.

“We look forward to hearing from electronic artists across the UK, and supporting another cohort of awardees to build sustainable careers.”

The Electronic Music Award is designed to support recipients to build sustainable careers in the music industry through nurturing peer connections, providing tailored advice and mentorship, and offering means-tested financial backing. Applications are open to creators of all electronic and dance music genres.

Last year’s recipients include Bristol-based artist NGAIO, who was supported in developing a new live set and remix EP; Manchester-based producer PERiiSU, who used the funding to complete the mixing and mastering of her 12-track debut, and Meg Ward, who has been busy progressing her recently launched Mega Wavy label. Check out the full 2024 cohort here.

“It’s great to be taking our Electronic Award partnership into a second year with Help Musicians,” said Iain McGoldrick, Head of Business Development of DJ Mag. “We’re already seeing amazing results from last years campaign and we can’t wait to continue that work into 2026 with a new cohort of incredibly talented artists.

“As well as vital funding, the award aims to equip artists with the essential tools they require to navigate the music industry and take the next steps in their career as electronic artists. DJ Mag are really proud to be a part of that journey.”

Help Musicians will be hosting a dedicated Get To Know Us session on 11th August from 6-7PM, offering advice about applying for the 2025 program. You can sign up for the free online session here.
