Luis Miguel Girón Gómez, born on April 17, 1990, in Cali, Colombia, is a talented drummer and percussionist with a distinguished career in the national and international music scene. His passion for music led him to study percussion and drums at the prestigious Sterling Academy in Cali, where he developed the skills that have made him a leader in his field.
From a very young age, Luis Miguel demonstrated his talent and commitment to music. In 2005, at just 15 years old, he won second place in the Abeja de Oro intercollegiate music competition at Colegio La Presentación in Cali, an award that earned him a special invitation to perform at the iconic Mono Núñez Festival in Ginebra, Valle del Cauca, one of the most important events in Colombian Andean music.
In 2007, together with his brother Rodrigo Andres Giron Gomez, he founded the band Tkila, with which he achieved significant success. That same year, the group won first place in the Top Music Bon Bon Bum band competition in Cali, which allowed them to record two of their songs. They also went on a national media tour in Bogotá, visiting channels such as City TV and Canal Capital. During that time, they recorded the song “El Guayabo” under the production of Julián Gil, debuting to great acclaim at the Jardín Plaza Shopping Center in front of more than 500 people. That year, they were also honored as Breakthrough Band by Shock magazine in Rockombia, and “El Guayabo” was ranked among the top 1 on stations such as Radio Hit, La Mega, and Los 40 Principales.
In 2008, Tkila expanded their reach with a media tour in Manizales, Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali, with the participation of Los 40 Principales on Caracol Radio. That same year, the band had the honor of opening the hit children’s program Patito Feo at the Los Cristales Open Air Theater, before a capacity of more than 1,000 people. They also toured with Los 40 Principales, sharing the stage with artists such as Sin Ánimo de Lucro, Tinto, Jerau, and Don Tetto. This was followed by performances at the Jardín Plaza Shopping Center for the Clean & Clear brand and a special concert at the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente, promoting cultural exchange between Brazil and Colombia.
In 2009, Tkila embarked on a tour of schools and universities in collaboration with the magazine El Clavo and Viajar por Colombia, strengthening their connection with the country’s young audiences.

In 2010, the band achieved recognition by winning the Compartiendo Territorios competition from the Ministry of Culture of Cali, earning the opportunity to record their songs at the prestigious Takeshima Studios. From this process emerged the songs “Dame” and “Brindo,” which further consolidated his musical identity.
That same year, Luis Miguel was invited to be a judge at the Alberto Carvajal Borrero School Song Festival, a recognition of his experience and musical judgment.
In 2014, his talent allowed him to join the band of renowned Mexican singer Paty Cantú on her tour of Colombia, performing, participating in media tours, and doing press events under the Universal Music label.
In 2015, his band Tkila was selected to participate in the Bomm Talks Awards in Bogotá, a key event in the country’s music industry.
At the same time, between 2013 and 2016, Luis Miguel served as the official drummer for the Formando y Educando Foundation band, recording several albums under the direction of Fernando Abadía. Thanks to this collaboration, in 2016 he traveled with Tkila to Washington, D.C., to give a free concert at the OAS titled Voices of Peace, in the prestigious Hall of the Americas, in addition to performing at Glen Echo Park.
That same year, together with his brother, he founded the studio and record label Cartera Records, with the goal of producing and supporting local artists such as Marie Lee, Rob Castellanos, Kimberly Aguiar, Perla Zuleta, Jei Santander, Alex Brown, Marce Franco, Allison Joan, Son de Timbiquí, and Aleja Plaza, among others.

In 2019, Luis Miguel and Tkila won the Estímulos Award from the Secretariat of Culture and Tourism of Cali, securing a significant budget for a musical tour in Bogotá, Barranquilla, Cali, and Medellín.
That same year, he expanded his experience in tropical music by joining the Doctor Rumba orchestra as a percussionist, specializing in bongos, cajón, and timbale for performances at private events, bars, and restaurants nationwide. In 2021, he took on a new challenge by joining the La Identidad orchestra, where he plays minor percussion with instruments such as the cajón, güira, maracas, and shakers.In 2023 and 2024, Tkila took his music beyond Colombia with an international tour of the United States, promoting his latest album, Como en Casa. Songs such as Superhéroe, Quién es, and En tan solo un parpadeo have been released.
