“Quiere otro sonido
Y no el de mi voz
Con ese instrumento
Fue que sé me la robó”
By Carlos Passage
The mangle is a tree full of legends and mysteries. It grows and forms mangrove swamps on the shores of the Colombian pacific ocean. The mangle’s roots form a micro-universe that harbors life, unexpected beings, responses to erosion, and environmental tranquility.

And from that constellation that has shone by the sea for millennia, emerges Mangle Fino, a contemporary folk group that embodies the wisdom and majesty of Pacific music from Colombia. Inspired by the powerful roots of the mangrove tree that control the land and holy water, Mangle Fino seeks to bring the ancestral sound of the Colombian Pacific fused with world music to the rest of the planet in a wonderful fusion with a song written by Hugo Tovar that narrates the adventure of being born in a land that smells of victory, nature, and woman.
“Yo a ella la llamaba/No me respondía/Solo me miraba/Con su sutil picardía”.

“El Bombo de la Alegria” by Mangle Fino is simple, clear, and sweet poetry. It is an approach to the creator through the joyful instrument that the group’s leader, Etiel Loango Alegria, plays throughout the piece:
“Es el bombo de alegría/Es el de la tierra mía”.
In addition to native Pacific instruments such as the bombo, the cununo, the congas, and the guasa, “El Bombo de la Alegria” incorporates Western musical instruments such as the drums, trombone, saxophone, and trumpets. The result is the birth of a new soundscape that explores musical territories never before explored.

The song is now available on all streaming platforms globally.
