CELEBRATING 40 YEARS OF SONG AND CONCERTS
Sir Bob Geldof will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the legendary Live Aid charity concert this summer with the release of the album “Just For One Day — The Live Aid Musical,” to be released on July 11.
The Live Aid musical will arrive in London’s West End on May 15 with songs from the artists who made history at the two charity concerts held on July 13, 1985, in London and Philadelphia, including Queen, David Bowie, U2, Elton John, Madonna, Bob Dylan, The Who, The Police, and many more.
In addition, the BBC and CNN will mark the anniversary with a new three-part documentary, “Live Aid at 40,” featuring exclusive interviews with Geldof, U2’s Bono, and Sting, examining the concert’s impact on music, politics, and global hunger awareness.
The original Live Aid concerts were watched by nearly two billion people worldwide and raised over $125 million for famine relief in Ethiopia. The song reached #1 in many countries around the world.
