Cúcuta is the most important city on the border with Venezuela. It is the axis of the economy between both countries. In recent years, however, the city has suffered immensely due to different factors such as the fall of the “bolivar”, unemployment, insecurity and rampant immigration.
In 2022, the authorities in Cúcuta celebrated the distinction made by the Network of Cities for Reception, Inclusion and Development, led by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which included the city among 9 capitals of the country for comprehensive care for the migrant, returnee and host population. But recognitions like this have not been enough. The city demands, above all, investment, trust and security and this is something that businessmen from the live music industry such as Diomar Garcia from DG Eventos and Oscar Pinzon from Stage Eventos y Producciones are crystallizing with their next superconcert for Cúcuta that will take place on June 15 at the General Santander stadium. Events like this reactivate the economy, hope and create spaces for people to once again have that sense of belonging that is typical of the Cucuteños.
