Tiësto teases return to trance with cryptic website countdown and ’90s logo

The Dutch star has shared a new teaser that might signal a shift in his sound.

Tiësto’s online presence has been wiped and replaced with a cryptic teaser.

The Dutch star’s website now has a countdown set to Friday, 21st November at 5 AM GMT and showcases a new name logo resembling his 1999 album ‘Live At Innercity – Amsterdam RAI’, as flagged by Global Dance Electronic.

Tiësto’s Instagram post history has been archived, save for a new post teasing something for Friday. That teaser features an audio snippet featuring a spoken female vocal and trance-like build-up, leading to speculation that the next phase of his music career will be leaning into the trance genre with which he made his name in the ’90s.

As EDM Tunes points out, the countdown coincides with the California trance festival Dreamstate, where Tiësto is set to perform an advertised trance set, and his EDC Las Vegas set was heavy with trance classics from the late ’90s and early 2000s.

Tiësto, who scored the No. 21 spot on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ’s Poll for 2025, last released a studio album in 2023: ‘Drive’.

Last month, Dutch football team NAC Breda revealed its new all-black away kit, a design collaboration with Tiësto.
