Michael Jackson makes history as the first artist to achieve Top 10 hits on the Hot 100 in six different decades.

Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” is at number 10 on the Hot 100 this week, giving the late King of Pop a new record for chart longevity.

“Thriller,” which peaked at number 4 on the Hot 100 in 1984, makes Michael Jackson the first artist to appear in the top 10 in six different decades (1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and now the 2020s).

Michael Jackson thus surpasses Andy Williams, who passed away in 2012 and whose career included Top 10 hits in five decades (1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 2010s, and 2020s).
