Technically, what Taylor Swift has done is an “interpolation” of “Father Figure,” George Michael’s 1996 classic.
In pop music, interpolation refers to using a melody—or portions of it (often with modified lyrics)—from a previously recorded song, but re-recording the melody rather than “sampling” or “remixing” it.

Taylor Swift’s new album is titled “The Life of a Showgirl” and is out this Friday, October 3rd.
