Balearic sunlight, spectacular production and super-sized ambitions all continue to define Ushuaïa Ibiza, the open-air powerhouse that remains a dominant force in Ibiza well over a decade into its run. Set against a beachfront backdrop with its vast pool and famously grand main stage, it remains a magnet for global crowds who like to have senses stimulated by some of the biggest names in the game.
From day into night, the sprawling music venue comes alive — this year via a brand new d&b Audiotechnik sound system — and summer seasons are always defined by headline dominance. Last year, Calvin Harris made history with his dual residency, while Martin Garrix marked a decade at the club, David Guetta remained a firm Monday fixture, and Armin van Buuren brought double the trance with his new Face2Face concept. This year, ANTS returns with a stripped-back production aesthetic and renewed emphasis on music and community, while Swedish House Mafia step in for an extended Sunday run, elrow brings its colourful carnival, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are back on Wednesdays, and Martin Garrix presents “an all-new concept” on Thursdays. Even amid epic lasers and awesome pyrotechnics, Ushuaïa Ibiza’s appeal still lies in that simple mix of big sounds and open skies.
