After a decade building her path as an independent artist, AnnaKsrina presents a work that brings together music, community, identity, and social purpose in a single creative universe.
For years, AnnaKsrina understood that art could exist far beyond the stage. Before establishing herself as a singer and songwriter, she had already found different ways to express herself: from digital content and tattoo art to designing her own brand, KOSMI. Today, all these facets converge in an artistic offering where music is just one of the languages with which she constructs a deeply personal identity.
Born in the state of Lara, Venezuela, and based in the United States for the past ten years, the artist has followed an unconventional path. Her story didn’t begin with a major record label, but with years of work, reinvention, and a constant conviction to create. In that process, she met Venezuelan producer Yoelkeys, a key figure in the development of her sound, later joined by Colombian producer Thomás Pérez. Alongside them, songwriter Crisly Ospino and Venezuelan singer Reymar Perdomo contribute to a production built on independence and Latin American collaboration.
The real turning point came when she began live streaming on TikTok. What started as a way to stay connected to music ended up becoming a community that now accompanies every step of her career. People from different countries not only listen to her songs but also travel to see her in concert and have made her stories, born from deeply personal experiences, their own.
For Annakarina, this community represents one of the most important achievements of her career.
“The most beautiful thing about this whole process has been feeling that I’ve never been alone. Seeing people make my songs their own, travel to see me sing, or simply find companionship in my music is something that still amazes me. That can’t be manufactured.” Annakarina comments
That journey culminated in Katarsis, an album that took nearly a year and a half to create and represents the most ambitious project of her career.
Far from being simply an album about heartbreak, Katarsis functions as an exploration of emotional transformation. Each song reflects a different moment within a process of personal reconstruction, understanding pain not as a destination but as a starting point.
“I feel that pain has enormous value because that’s where one evolves. Happiness also fades, but growth often begins when we learn to navigate difficult times. For me, that is true catharsis: allowing yourself to feel in order to move forward,” Annakarina affirms.
Although her musical roots are deeply influenced by regional Mexican music, Annakarina avoids being confined to a single label. Her approach blends elements of regional music with Latin pop, ballads, mambo, and merengue, building a repertoire that responds more to emotions than to the rules of a specific genre.
Among the songs on the album, “Gané Perdiendo” (I Won by Losing) holds a special place. Recorded in Mexico, the artist considers it one of the tracks that best encapsulates the project’s message. The phrase “I won and I will win” synthesizes the philosophy that runs through the album: even losses can become victories when they offer valuable lessons.
Beyond music, Annakarina has also built a creative universe around KOSMI, a brand that began as an extension of her artistic identity and now serves as a meeting point for her community. Represented by an illustrated bear, KOSMI brings together the artist’s various facets—music, art, creativity, and resilience—under a single philosophy: accepting every experience, even the most difficult, as part of the journey. For Annakarina, the character symbolizes the scars left by battles, the importance of perseverance, and the ability to transform vulnerability into a creative force.
That same vision also gave rise to the KOSMI Foundation, an initiative with which it seeks to bring aid and hope to vulnerable communities, especially in Venezuela, a country with which it maintains a permanent link despite the distance.
