The original is the first taste of The Queen of Pop’s forthcoming album, ‘Confessions II’.
Peggy Gou has remixed Madonna’s single, ‘I Feel So Free’. The track is the first to be taken from the forthcoming ‘Confessions II’ album, slated for release on 3rd July.
Gou’s reinterpretation is a pace-y, synth-heavy number that nods to nu-disco and classic 1990s dance music, contrasting the more hypnotic original mix and its interpolation of Lil’ Louis house music landmark, ‘French Kiss’.
Madonna then used the tune during a surprise show at iconic West Hollywood queer venue The Abbey. The Club Confessions Los Angeles event was by invitation only and also involved The xx’s Romy, Addisone Rae, Mez Monty and Stuart Price, producer of both ‘Confessions II’ and its predecessor, ‘Confessions On A Dance Floor’.
“People think that dance music is superficial, but they’ve got it all wrong. The dance floor is not just a place, it’s a threshold: a ritualistic space where movement replaces language,” Madonna said of the album. “We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies. These are things that we’ve been doing for thousands of years – they really are spiritual practices.

“After all, the dance floor is a ritualistic space. It’s a place where you connect — with your wounds, with your fragility,” she added. “To rave is an art. It’s about pushing your limits and connecting to a community of like-minded people. Sound, light, and vibration reshape our perceptions. Pulling us into a trance-like state. The repetition of the bass, we don’t just hear it but we feel it. Altering our consciousness and dissolving ego and time.”
