Salsa icon Rafu Warner presents his new album “Cueste Lo Que Cueste”

Renowned Puerto Rican singer and songwriter Rafu Warner, one of the most emblematic voices of salsa, announces the release of his latest album, “Cueste lo que cueste”, an album that celebrates five decades of his artistic career and reaffirms his commitment to the essence of the genre.

Recorded independently under his own label, RW Records, this project took nearly four years to develop, resulting in a mature, honest work deeply connected to the salsa identity.

“I make music that stays true to tradition. Salsa is salsa. I’m not going to change because of trends; I make music because it comes from my soul,” says the artist.

An album that honors salsa in its purest form, “Cueste lo que cueste” (Whatever the Cost) brings together compositions mostly written by Rafú himself, addressing themes ranging from love and human relationships to social and political reflections, always with the artist’s characteristic touch: authenticity, wit, and feeling.

The musical direction was handled by trombonist Eliut Cintrón, a lifelong collaborator of the singer, whose artistic partnership contributes a solid and coherent sound to the production.

The album features the participation of prominent international arrangers and musicians, including Ernesto “Tito” Rivera, Pedro Bermúdez, Rafael “Bodo” Torres, Erick Figueroa, Francis Rodríguez, Marcial Istúriz, and Isidro Infante, who contribute sonic diversity without losing the classic essence of the genre.


Collaborations and Key Moments

The album features special collaborations such as that of salsa singer Luisito Carrión on the track “Si algún día fueras mía” (If You Were Mine Someday), as well as the participation of Marcial Istúriz and Eric Pabón on the song “Bururú,” a track brimming with flavor and energy.

In addition, the album includes a new version of the classic “Justo ahora” (Right Now), a hit that marked an important stage in the artist’s career during his time with Bobby Valentín’s orchestra. This version was produced between Puerto Rico and Cali, Colombia, strengthening the artist’s connection with the Colombian public.

A release that marks a new stage with this project, Rafú Warner not only celebrates his legacy but also begins a new phase in his career, connecting with new audiences without losing the essence that has made him a leading figure in the genre.

The release of “Cueste lo que cueste” will be accompanied by an international promotional tour that will include performances and media appearances in different cities, including Colombia, one of the countries where his music has resonated. a special connection with the audience.

The album and its title track have already been submitted for consideration for the 2026 Latin Grammy Awards.
