The benefit concert on August 23 will bring together music stars at Vive Claro Distrito Cultural to support the reconstruction of homes after the earthquake that struck the country.
Artists and companies in the Colombian music industry decided to join forces amidst the tragedy affecting central and western Colombia following the 7.4 magnitude earthquake on Monday, August 10, 2016.
Alongside international aid, donations from the public, and the contributions of volunteers in the affected areas helping with debris removal, rescue efforts, and aid distribution, the music community decided to do its part with the “Colombia: Voices for Life” benefit event, which will be held at Vive Claro in Bogotá on August 23.

The goal of this initiative is to raise funds for the reconstruction of homes in the areas affected by the earthquake, according to an official statement from the organizers.
The event will feature performances by national and international musicians, including Maluma, Karol G, Grupo Niche, Andrés Cepeda, Manuel Medrano, ChocQuibTown, Luis Alfonso, Sebastián Yatra, Silvestre Dangond, Draco Rosa, Miguel Bosé, Pedro Capó, Beéle, Bonka, Daniel Habif, Eladio Carrión, Galy Galiano, Hamilton, Juan Duque, Juliana, Laura Pérez, Maisak, Manú, Nanpa Básico, and TIMØ.
Karol G’s participation in the show will be remote, via a live stream produced in collaboration with her Con Cora Foundation. The singer is currently on her Viajando por el Mundo Tropitour tour in the United States.
The event organizers clarified that everyone involved—artists, producers, technicians, and suppliers—will work without pay or direct costs, so that all funds raised can be used for the reconstruction of the most affected areas.
The organizers indicated that the fundraising will be managed by Presentes Corporación, an organization with 43 years of experience in emergency management. Presentes Corporación, along with an implementation and monitoring committee, will be responsible for distributing the funds. According to the statement, “100% of the contributions made will be donated to Presentes Corporación to support the reconstruction of the most affected areas.”
Donations can be made starting at 100,000 Colombian pesos through the Ticketmaster platform. Those who contribute will receive tickets to attend the event. The statement also clarifies that individuals or companies interested in donating without attending can do so through the indicated channels, and that the event is open to citizens both in Colombia and abroad.
