The Paris-based streaming company confirmed nearly 90,000 AI-generated tracks are submitted to the platform every day
Deezer has reported that AI-generated music now accounts for more than half of all tracks uploaded to its platform each day.
The Paris-based streaming company said around 90,000 AI-generated tracks are now submitted daily, representing more than 50% of total uploads. The figure marks a rise from April, when Deezer reported 75,000 AI-generated tracks per day, accounting for 44% of uploads. According to Music Business Worldwide, this is the first time AI-generated music has overtaken human-made music in daily uploads on the platform.
Deezer said it will continue to remove and demonetise AI-generated tracks, aligned with its January statement on shunning royalties payments on 85% of AI music using its AI detection tools.
“Deezer has been at the frontline of fighting fraud and reducing payment dilution related to AI music for almost two years”, CEO Alexis Lanternier said in a press statement. “Now that half of all daily uploads are AI-generated tracks, we are taking additional steps to safeguard the rights of artists and songwriters, while maintaining focus on music that fans actually love.”
Deezer’s AI detection tools were launched across 20 streaming platforms in June.
Last month, TIDAL announced its new AI music policy that would exclude fully AI-generated music from royalty payments. Bandcamp banned “wholly or substantial[ly]” AI-generated music at the beginning of the year.
Traxsource and Apple Music have also developed transparency tagging systems to disclose AI-use in music production. In contrast, a May licensing deal between Spotify and Universal Music Group would allow fans to use AI to generate remixes of songs (with permission from artists).
A November 2025 study found that 97% of people can’t distinguish between human- and AI-made music.
