Six Years On Air: I Color Radio from Atlanta

Author

What began as an idea among friends passionate about radio and communication has become an international platform dedicated to electronic music and global music culture. iColor Radio was born in Cali, Colombia, in January 2020, founded by John Mario Castro and Jerónimo Hernández, two professionals with extensive experience in the world of communication, radio, and marketing. Just six months later, in July of that same year, the project was permanently established in Atlanta, Georgia, the city from which it continues to operate today.

Initially conceived as a crossover station, iColor Radio naturally evolved toward an increasingly specialized focus on electronic music. Over the years, the station found its own identity, allowing it to connect with audiences in different countries and position itself as a platform for information, entertainment, and the dissemination of electronic music culture.

A pivotal chapter in this story was the addition of journalist Carlos Passage, former Billboard en Español, associate member of the Latin Recording Academy (L.A.R.A.), radio director, and renowned communicator. His experience and strategic vision helped strengthen the station’s presence through partnerships with major media outlets and journalistic projects related to the music industry.

Over these six years, iColor Radio has covered some of the most important events on the international electronic music scene, including world-class festivals like Tomorrowland Brazil and the legendary Monegros Desert Festival in Spain.

Thanks to this consistent work, the station has built a network of contributors and correspondents that allows it to bring its listeners exclusive information from around the world, solidifying an editorial approach that combines music, journalism, and live experiences. As part of its sixth anniversary celebration, iColor Radio will once again be present at one of the world’s most important electronic music events with our European correspondents, Carolina Arango and Fede Lara, at the Monegros Desert Festival 2026, held in Aragon, Spain.

Six years after its launch, iColor Radio continues to demonstrate that a passion for radio, digital innovation, and a love of music can break down borders and connect communities around the world.
