Because Pope Leon XIV received Bad Bunny in a private meeting in Madrid, as reported exclusively by the Spanish public broadcaster RTVE on Tuesday, June 9, a story later confirmed by a Vatican statement.
The meeting took place on Monday, June 8, at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, where the Pope held a series of meetings following his massive gathering with the diocesan community.

RTVE also reported that Bad Bunny’s representatives had contacted the Spanish Episcopal Conference weeks earlier to explore the possibility of a meeting with the Pope. “In fact, the idea was raised of him participating in the massive rally in front of Madrid City Hall—in Plaza de Cibeles—before more than a million people… although, ultimately, it didn’t materialize,” the outlet wrote.
Bad Bunny attended the meeting accompanied by family members and others who were also received by Leo XIV. Several photos were taken with mobile phones during the audience.

Bad Bunny will perform again today in Madrid. He still has his shows on June 11, 14 and 15 to complete his last scheduled dates in the capital.
