Colombian urban romantic salsa star Angel Huellas is ready to take his next step with the release of his second single this year, “La Soledad” (Loneliness).

Hailing from Buenaventura on Colombia’s west coast, his style is causing a true revolution in salsa across the hemisphere: urban romantic salsa, a subgenre that fuses old-school salsa with urban elements.

Huellas says his music is absolutely unique, uniting veteran fans with new listeners. “Urban romantic salsa takes the best of both worlds, mixing sounds of 80s bedroom salsa with contemporary urban rhythms. It’s a very warm salsa, perfect for dancing and sending messages of love,” he says.
After “Tu Tentación” (Your Temptation), the first single from his album “Huellas” (Footprints), the Colombian singer has released “La Soledad,” an inspiring song that sends a message of empowerment to those going through difficult times.
“Quien no domina la soledad
abraza a cualquier compañía.
Dicen que la soledad me puede matar,
que es sinónimo de abandono
que es dolor y no es amiga.
Me enamore y me fallaron
Y empecé a cuestionar mi valor, mi autoestima…”
“He who cannot master solitude
embraces any company.
They say that solitude can kill me,
that it is synonymous with abandonment
that it is pain and not a friend.
I fell in love and was betrayed
And I began to question my worth, my self-esteem…”
Supporting the release of “La Soledad” (Solitude), Angel Huellas recently embarked on a media tour in Cali, the World Capital of Salsa, where he visited the main radio and TV stations and newspapers.
“The media were very kind and their reviews of the album have been very positive,” he confesses.

The salsa singer confirmed that the media tour will extend to Bogotá, Medellín, and Barranquilla this year, and then, before the end of 2026, will include stops in Spain and the United States.
With an eye toward the Latin Grammys, the album “Huellas” and the song “Tu Tentación” have already been submitted in the categories of “Best Salsa Album” and “Best Tropical Song.” The next step is to submit both entries to the voting members of the Recording Academy for their consideration in July, when they will all vote to choose the nominees for the 27th Latin GRAMMY Awards, to be held on November 12 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The Latin Recording Academy announced that the nominations will be revealed on September 16.
