U2 releases new EP titled ‘Easter Lily’

Author

It’s Easter, and U2 is releasing this six-song EP, which comes shortly after the release last month of another mini-album, “Days of Ash,” which came out on Ash Wednesday.

“Days of Ash” was U2’s response to the chaotic times the world is experiencing, while “Easter Lily” is a collection of much more reflective songs that emerge from a more personal and intimate space, exploring themes such as friendship, loss, hope, and renewal.

Regarding their upcoming album, Bono said in a press release:

“We’re in the studio, working on a loud, chaotic, and wildly colorful album to play live… which is where U2 comes to life. We continue to turn to vibrant rock and roll as an act of resistance against all the atrocity we see on our screens. These are undoubtedly uncertain years for many of us, seeing the chaos that reigns in the world.”
