Medellin/Colombia-born singer Nacho Acero presents his latest release: the remake of “Cachondea,” one of the genre’s most iconic songs, originally by Joe De Cuba. Fruko later debuted it in the 1990s, and now returns with renewed strength in Nacho’s voice, produced by Orlando Libreros and featuring salsa legend Fruko.
With this effort, Nacho Acero marks a milestone in his musical career. After more than 15 years dedicated to romantic salsa, the artist decides to open a new chapter, focusing on danceable, rumba, and timbale salsa, reaffirming his commitment to the evolution and permanence of the genre.
With Fruko’s blessing, Acero pays tribute to the history of salsa, showcasing his vocal and interpretive versatility and exploring sounds that connect with the most authentic roots of Latin music without losing the essence that has positioned him as one of the genre’s most beloved artists in Colombia and Latin America.
“After so many years of exploring romantic salsa, I felt the need to sing from the other side of the spectrum, to show that salsa also runs through my blood in its most rumba-like, joyful, and danceable form. With Cachondea, I want to invite people to enjoy, dance, and celebrate life with salsa,” says Nacho Acero.
This release inaugurates a new musical era in the artist’s career, as he seeks to bring his work to every corner of the continent and conquer the world with his renewed energy and unwavering love for salsa.
The video was filmed in Medellín, the beautiful city of eternal spring, where the two artists can be seen enjoying the magic created around a good salsa party, contrasting with the golden light of the city’s classic streets and the iconic theaters where, a few years ago, the best salsa shows were held. A video surrounded by color, freshness, and dance that makes it clear that music is a single language and unites entire generations. This time, two great exponents, each adding their own unique style.

“Cachondea” is available through digital platforms and YouTube starting October 16th, while the artists prepare to kick off a media and concert tour in Colombia to present to their entire audiences this song, which for many is a hit and will be a great surprise for the new generations.
