The I Color Radio team in Spain will be covering one of the world’s most important electronic music festivals this summer: the Monegros Desert Festival.

Thirty years ago, the Arnau family had one of their dreams. Our parents, after discovering all the great raves in England and Central Europe, after finishing one of those unforgettable sessions at the Florida 135 club hosted by the great heroes of techno, visited the family estate in the middle of the Los Monegros desert. It was dawn, and the stars were still shining in the sky. Right there, sitting on a bale of straw in the middle of the “threshing floor,” our parents decided to turn the space into a large dance floor—quite crazy if we travel back for a moment to 1992. If most young people outside our borders had their own illegal raves, we, the Arnaus and our clients, would have our own too. What began back then as a simple gathering of music-loving friends, over time consolidated itself as a benchmark in the international electronic music scene.
We absorbed the best of that movement that was timidly making its way into most clubs and the most underground raves across Europe; but we also created a new concept of entertainment: “la Ravervena,” a blend of music, dance, entertainment, partying, and family.
In 2022, this dream came true again; Monegros was once again held in the land of its birth, achieving record numbers. More than 120 artists, 11 stages, and 2,000 workers elevated the Fraga gathering to a unique experience, beyond just the musical. Monegros Desert Festival returned renewed, selling out, and with a setup never before seen in our country. Twenty-two hours of music spread across eleven themed stages. Such was the experience that we decided to repeat it in 2022!.
Since then, we’ve celebrated three incredible editions: in 2022, 2023, and 2024, where each year we’ve exceeded our expectations. The last edition, on July 27, 2024, was an unforgettable thirtieth anniversary for the 50,000 souls from 90 countries who enjoyed 22 uninterrupted hours of music with us. The presence of the R.A.V.E concept, its impossible stages, technological and creative innovations, and operational improvements transformed the heart of the Aragonese Desert into an extraordinary audiovisual and sound machine.
The Monegros Desert offers us the opportunity to grow creatively year after year. This is why, over the years, we’ve wanted to evolve in creativity and technology to such an extent that it’s not just a festival where you can listen to your favorite artists, but rather, an ephemeral city where you can live unparalleled and unforgettable experiences.
If past editions seemed unbeatable, get ready because next year we’re back with even more firepower. On July 26, 2025, we’ll return to the desert to celebrate our 32nd anniversary with 11 stages, more than 150 DJs, gigantic sets, immersive sets, a variety of musical genres, and many more surprises that we’ll be revealing soon.
