“He urgently needs somewhere peaceful, private and dignified — unfortunately, home is not a safe or suitable option”.

The family of Optimo’s JD Twitch have put out an urgent call for help in sourcing accessible accommodation following the Scottish DJ and producer’s brain tumour diagnosis.

JD Twitch — real name Keith McIvor — shared news of his untreatable cancer diagnosis last week, writing that he is currently “trying to process this news and prioritising spending precious time with the people I love”.

On Saturday (5th July), McIvor’s partner shared a post on Facebook detailing the Optimo co-founder’s situation, describing him as “extremely distressed on a busy hospital ward with five other patients”.

“He urgently needs somewhere peaceful, private and dignified — unfortunately, home is not a safe or suitable option, and we’ve been told he’s not yet eligible for hospice care based on his current symptoms,” read the post.

It continues: “I want to reassure you that Keith is not in pain right now. He’s lost a lot of weight, and speaking and walking are difficult — but he’s still very much himself: listening to music, sharing laughs, and wanting to be around the people he loves. He is 57, so ideally somewhere that is not just for elderly people.”

The post explains that they are looking for fully accessible or adaptable short-term supported care or accommodation in or near Glasgow, with indoor/outdoor access. “Ideally somewhere like a care home or supported living setting where help is already in place, so we don’t need to coordinate care separately”, it read.
