Bad Bunny’s “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” will regain the top spot tomorrow on the Billboard 200, the weekly chart of the most popular albums in the United States, jumping from 7th to number 1 after its vinyl release.
“Debí Tirar Más Fotos” sold 84,500 units (a 123% increase), of which just over 48,000 were vinyl.
But the news for Latin music doesn’t end there.
Tomorrow, the second best-selling album in the United States will be “111XPANTIA” by the regional Mexican group Fuerza Regida, with 76,000 copies sold.
With this number 2 achievement, the album becomes the most successful in the regional Mexican genre, surpassing Peso Pluma’s “Genesis,” which reached number 3 in 2023.
(111xpantia is pronounced “ixpantia” in Nahuatl, a group of languages in the Uto-Aztecan linguistic family spoken in central Mexico.)
Historic Week
This marks the first time in the 69-year history of the Billboard 200 chart that two Spanish-language albums have held the number 1 and number 2 spots simultaneously in the same week.
