A select 4% of all Hot 100 number 1 hits (46 of 1,179 since the chart’s inception on August 4, 1958) have spent 10 or more weeks at the top.
“Luther” is now the longest-charting Hot 100 hit by a male and female solo artist in history, surpassing the nine-week reign of Diana Ross and Lionel Richie’s “Endless Love” from 1981.
