As always, Billboard does not seek any compensation for promoting music or artists. Websites and social media accounts promising coverage in exchange for a profit share through cryptocurrency are not affiliated with Billboard in any way.
Confirmed examples of these fraudulent pages include musicpromobillboard.com and musicpromobillboard.com
Likewise, any “company” identifying itself as Billboard that invites you to sign up for paid online or print coverage is an imposter.
Please do not send them any payment. They may contact you via a fake email such as info@billboard.technology.
Unfortunately, this issue is not the first of its kind. Social media scammers have posed as Billboard contributors, contacting individuals or musicians—often smaller artists—to offer coverage in exchange for money.
