Rick Springfield recently discovered that a bad fall he suffered in 2000 caused brain damage. The 75-year-old singer revealed to People magazine that after having a full-body MRI he was told he still has lingering brain damage from a tumble on stage during a Las Vegas concert 25 years ago.
“I fell 25 feet, hit my head and then a piece of wood fell and hit my head, and then my head hit the stage again,” Springfield said of the nasty fall. “I thought I broke my wrist, but on the MRI I found out I have some brain damage from the fall, so I’m trying to repair it.”
Despite being in the middle of his seventh decade, he said he still feels like he’s 20 in his head thanks to daily exercise, a mostly seafood diet and cutting back on his alcohol intake a few years ago, which has also had a positive impact on his lifelong battle with depression.
