TikTok has become unavailable in the US as of today (January 19), following the implementation of a ban or divestment law targeting Byte Dance, the platform’s parent company.
TikTok maintains that without firm guarantees, it cannot keep the app running in the US, leaving millions of users and creators in limbo.

Meanwhile, the company remains hopeful that a resolution will be reached once President-elect Trump takes office.
Yesterday Trump said he will “most likely” give TikTok a 90-day extension to avoid the ban. Trump spoke to NBC News’ Kristen Welker in an exclusive phone interview on Saturday (January 18), discussing his plans for what to do with the popular social media app.
