The stage is huge and imposing, and is equipped with the highest standards in terms of technology, sound and acoustics. It is without a doubt the best Christmas gift that the capital of Valle del Cauca has received in its history.
Considered after the Movistar Arena the main event venue in Colombia, the ‘Arena USC Andrés Pérez Galindo’ is being built on the campus of the University of Santiago de Cali and will be, from December 25, an open space for all kinds of artistic and cultural events.
“We at the University of Santiago de Cali wanted to pay tribute to the cultural and artistic sector of our beloved city of Cali and our department of Valle; which is not only a breeding ground but also a great projection of artists from the entire Pacific zone and the southwest of our country,” explained the project manager and rector of the University of Santiago de Cali, Carlos Andrés Pérez Galindo.
“For this reason, it is important to have artists, but also stages with the technology and height to make these presentations; for this reason, the Universidad Santiago de Cali has built the USC Arena, which has the highest performances not only in the professional sound part but also in acoustics. Here we will be able to make very important events not only in the musical part but also very diverse artistic expressions such as the performing arts,” added the Rector of the USC.
In addition to its modern facilities, with a main auditorium for 2,230 people and an auxiliary auditorium with another 303 seats, the USC Arena has parking for 800 vehicles, elevators, an infirmary, an ambulance area, air conditioning, a brewery, a restaurant and a bar, among others.
A stage that will redefine the way in which large events are experienced in a city like Cali, which will offer unique experiences to attendees and will be open not only to concerts and artistic expressions, but also to musical and theatrical works, congresses, conferences, talks and much more.
The acoustic part, explains Pérez Galindo, was specially designed in wood to achieve optimal resonance and reverberation, and the sound can be focused according to the needs of the artists; in addition, the artistic assembly part is completely robotized.
Own ticketing system
The USC Arena will also have meeting spaces and its own innovative ticketing system; through the firm QRBoletos.com, operated by the company Arecol, led by two visionary businessmen in the sector, where tickets can be purchased and secured in a simple and fast way.
We have a main auditorium where the latest generation technology becomes the protagonist: EAW surround sound, dazzling Chauvet lighting, and Novastar LED screens that will make each event an immersive experience,” indicated the company.
The modern facilities of the USC Arena, specially designed so that the entire audience has a privileged view of the stage, include a first-class emergency system to guarantee the comfort and safety of the attendees.
The Niche Group, Los Hermanos Lebrón and Rey Ruiz, among other great national and foreign orchestras, will mark the beginning of the Arena USC Andrés Pérez Galindo in this new and modern logistical and artistic concept in the city.
Starting this December 25, the Arena USC will be inaugurated with concerts of international stature and through the website www.qrboletos.com all the ease and accessibility will be provided to acquire tickets to enjoy the exclusive programming for the Cali Fair.
We did not have a stage of these characteristics in the city, indicated the rector Carlos Andrés Pérez, and many times there are artistic events in cities such as Bogotá and Medellín, which do not come to the city precisely because we did not have a stage of this type and the Universidad Santiago de Cali has wanted to give this gift to the city and the department.
