Innovation and Passion: The Musical Journey of a Producer with International Experience
With more than a decade of experience, the outstanding music producer, musician and teacher Rodrigo Andrés Girón Gómez has left a significant mark on the music scene both in Colombia and U.S. His career is marked by a combination of teaching, production and musical direction that he has carried out with great passion and an innovative approach. From his first steps in music to the creation of his own events company, his professional career is a testament to his commitment to art and musical education.

Education and Continuing Education
The producer has consolidated his training in various recognized institutions, which has allowed him to develop a deep understanding of music from its theoretical foundations to its practical execution. In 2020 he completed a specialization in mixing and mastering techniques with Guillermo Marín. His technical foundation in musical production was obtained at the Audio Medios Music Institute in Cali, Colombia, where he graduated in 2017, and he has a bachelor’s degree in music from the Instituto Popular de Cultura, a degree he obtained in 2006.
A Musical Career Full of Success
His work with the musical group Tkila since 2006 has been a pillar in his artistic career. As singer, guitarist and producer of the band, he has taken Tkila to the top, achieving milestones such as first place in the Top Music Bon Bon Bum band contest in 2007, managing to position his song ‘El guayabo’ on the main radio stations such as ‘Los 40 Principales’, ‘La mega’ among others, tours throughout Latin America, and recognition at the Rockombia festival of SHOCK magazine. Winner of the Takeshima awards, Stimulus award in Cali, Colombia. In addition, he has participated in various promotional tours and concerts in universities, schools and media outlets, establishing Tkila as one of the breakout bands in the country and the world.

In 2019, he expanded his impact in the industry with the creation of Doctor Rumba, an events and sound rental company that has offered employment to more than 500 musicians and successfully organized more than 100 large-scale events.
International Production and Collaboration
Cartera Records, founded in 2016, has been the center of his music production projects. Under his direction, he has collaborated with renowned international artists such as Paulina Rubio on the song “No es mi culpa” as a guitarist and Paty Cantú on her tour in Colombia as musical director and guitarist, backing vocalist for Alfredo de la fe alongside the famous Cali charanga de Julián Gil and has been responsible for the soundtrack of the film “Esa Soledad”. Directed by the famous film director Jaime Segura in the City of Miami. Recently, he was nominated for the Gran Latino Awards and the Unidad Latin Music Awards in New York for the musical production of the song “Amor sin maneras.”

Education with Social Impact
As an educator, he has left a mark on his students. He has been a judge for important music festivals and competitions such as the Alberto Carvajal Borrero School Song Festival and a judge for the Boulevard Glee Club youth program. His work as a music teacher at the Secretariat of Culture and Tourism of Santiago de Cali (2016-2021) has been transformative, changing the lives of young people from vulnerable sectors through music. He introduced technologies in the classroom and innovative pedagogical methodologies, which has significantly improved the educational experience of his students.
Recognitions and Legacy
Throughout his career, he has received several awards and recognitions, including the prestigious “Petronio Álvarez” award in 2018 with the band Timbiafrica, and has been invited to participate in various international events such as the “Voces de Paz” concert at the OAS in Washington with his band Tkila in 2016. His commitment to the development of new talents and his ability to innovate in the field of music have consolidated him as a key figure in the music industry.
