Taylor Swift endorses Kamala Harris for president, signs Instagram post as ‘childless cat lady’

Taylor Swift posted her Instagram post with a photo of her holding her cat ‘Olivia Benson’ (character from the series Law and Order) and signed it as “Childless Cat Lady” – a funny but scathing comment that references comments made by Republican Party vice presidential candidate JD Vance about prominent Democrats without children.

Her endorsement came just hours after the first presidential debate, where Harris and Donald Trump went head to head.
“I believe we can achieve so much more in this country if we are guided by calm and not chaos.”

In the post shared with her 238 million followers, Taylor Swift expressed her admiration for Kamala Harris, calling her a “talented and steady leader” and a “warrior” for causes such as LGBTQ+ rights and women’s reproductive freedoms.

Taylor Swift said she had watched the debate and had done her own research on which candidate she would vote for.

It is not the first time Taylor has supported Democrats.

In the 2020 election between President Joe Biden and Trump, she stood by President Biden and Vice President Harris.

Taylor Swift’s endorsement could have a big impact among younger voters, who make up a significant portion of her fan base.

Her influence is hard to ignore, as her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” spent 15 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
