“One Hand Clapping” is the new album by Paul McCartney and Wings. It was released over the weekend, fifty years after its original recording.
THE STORY OF THE DOCUMENTARY AND ALBUM “ONE HAND CLAPPING”
The album began as a documentary starring Paul McCartney and his then band, Wings.
The film was shot over four days in August 1974 at Abbey Road Studios in London.
The film shows the band performing live in the studio with voice-over interviews with the band members.
The songs featured include numerous hits by Paul, Wings and The Beatles.
Although a proposal for television was made, both the film and the album were never released at the time.
In the decades since, both the documentary and the album have been bootlegged quite frequently.
The film was finally released in November 2010 as part of the reissue of the “Band on the Run” box set.
