Rolling Stone’s list of the best albums of the first half of the year


In addition to the albums of big stars like Beyonce, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande and of course Taylor Swift, the list of the best albums of the first semester totaled 63 titles, of which seven were Latin.

  1. Kali Uchis, ‘Orquídeas’
  2. Shakira, ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran’
  3. Young Miko, ‘Att.’ (Puerto Rico)
  4. A. Chal, ‘Espíritu’ (singer from Peru)
  5. Álvaro Díaz, ‘Sayonara’ (Puerto Rico)
  6. Helado Negro, ‘Phasor’ (singer born in Miami to Ecuadorian parents)
  7. RaiNao, ‘Capicú’ (singer from Puerto Rico).

Three albums by artists from different parts of the world caught our attention:

Arooj Aftab, ‘Night Reign’
(she is a 39-year-old Pakistani singer who won the Grammy two years ago in the category of World Music – Folk Music or Global Music-)

Les Amazones d’Afrique, ‘Musow Danse
(Female supergroup formed in Mali in 2015 that includes Kandia Kouyaté, Angélique Kidjo, Mamani Keita, Rokia Koné, Mariam Doumbia and other famous African singers.

Rachel Chinouriri, ‘What a Devastating Turn of Events’
(British singer of Zimbabwean parents. He is 25 years old)
