As expected, Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ will make a mammoth debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart tomorrow. This will be her 14th No. 1 album.
“The Department of Tortured Poets” sold 2.6 million units, of which 1.9 million were traditional sales (downloads, CDs, vinyl and cassettes).
Vinyl records alone totaled 859,000 copies sold. Largest figure in a week in the ‘Modern Era’ (1991 to present).
On the streaming front, the album’s 31 songs generated 891 million streams. This is the largest single-week figure in streaming history (2014 to present).
