The song recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra was composed by two-time Oscar winner Hans Zimmer and produced by Grammy winner Walter Afanasieff (Mariah Carey).
“Due to the current rise in anti-Semitism around the world, I wanted to sing ‘Love Will Survive’ in the context of this series, as a way to remember the six million souls who were lost less than 80 years ago. And I also affirm that Even in the darkest times, the power of love can triumph and endure.”
“LOVE WIL SURVIVE”
BARBRA STREISAND
The song, Barbra Streisand’s first recording for a television series, will be released on April 25, a week before the series premieres globally on Peacock in the United States and on NOW in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Germany , Austria and Switzerland and Stan in Australia on May 2.
The series tells the story of a Slovak Jew, Lali (starring the British Hauer-King), who in 1942 was deported to the Nazi death camp of Austchwitz where more than a million Jews were murdered during the Holocaust.
Lali becomes one of the camp’s Tätowierer (tattoo artists), whose job is to ink identification numbers on the arms of his fellow prisoners. Lali then falls in love with his fellow prisoner “leading to a love that defied the horrors around them.”
