J Balvin at Coachella

With his performance last night, J Balvin reminds everyone why he reigns as the King of Colombian Reggaeton.

When the clock struck 8:30 p.m. yesterday Pacific Time, J Balvin took the stage amid the eerie sight of a UFO flying over the festival. Wearing braids and a leather jacket adorned with alien patches, J Balvin opened the concert with “Mi Gente.”

Accompanied by Jowel & Randy and De La Ghetto, J Balvin’s performance combined old-school reggaeton with futuristic electronic music rhythms in hits like “Colmillo” and “Dientes.”
But the night took an exciting turn when J Balvin surprised fans with a special appearance by Will Smith, who sang “Men In Black,” dressed as his iconic character from the film.

Billboard said of J Balvin’s Coachella show last night:
“As the night came to an end with his song “Qué Calor,” J Balvin left the audience filled with emotion, proving once again why he is one of the biggest stars in Latin music.”

Other Latin artists who performed at Coachella this year included Peso Pluma, Puerto Rican Young Miko, Bizarrap, Mexican rapper Santa Fe Klan, Queen of the Favelas Ludmilla and Ecuadorian instrumental band Hermanos Gutiérrez.
