Jessi Uribe, the star of Popular Music, the friendly Colombian counterpart of the Mexican Regional, has announced his 2024 world tour that will take him through the United States, Europe, Mexico and Latin America.
The ‘Despechados Tour’, the ambitious tour of the 36-year-old singer born in the city of Bucaramanga, North East of Colombia, will serve to promote his third album ‘De Lejitos’ (Mano de Obra) released on Christmas Day last year.
Since 2017, when she crowned Colombia’s national charts with “Dulce Pecado” (531 million views on YouTube), Uribe has become the leading figure in Popular Music and a key player in the internationalization of the genre in the rest of the world.
He has had hits on five different Billboard charts: Regional Mexican Airplay, Hot Latin Songs, Latin Airplay, Mexico Popular Airplay and Mexico Airplay.
On the Regional Mexican Airplay chart Jessi Uribe has three songs in the Top 10 including the #1 of 2022 “Si Ya Hiciste el Mal” (with Luis R Conriquez), “El Alumno” (with Joss Favela, #6, 2021) and “Tú Maniquí” (with Alejandro Fernandez, #9, 2023).
After being nominated for the Premio Lo Nuestro, he is ready for his next step: the Latin Grammy, a dream that could come true this year with his album “De Lejitos” that has received the best reviews from the media and fans.
For now, the Colombian singer is preparing his first shows in Mexico as a ‘headliner’. The first date of the “Despechados Tour Mexico” will be this April 10 in Guadalajara, but before that Jessi Uribe will be honored on March 5 by Miami councilman Christian Macera for his contribution to Colombian culture in a ceremony in which he will also will recognize the contribution in sport and art of other colombians such as Luis Carlos Perea, Marisol Correa, Rosmy Camargo and Daniela Ospina.
