Freddie Mercury’s house for sale

Author

Known as Garden Lodge, the Kensington home is for sale for the first time since the Queen leader’s death in 1991. The property is located in London’s exclusive enclave of Kensington and is being sold for £30 million ($38 millions).

The former Queen frontman, who died in 1991 aged 45 from bronchial pneumonia, left the neo-Georgian property and all its contents to his friend and fiancée, Mary Austin. In the 30 or so years since she lived in and cared for the house full time, she has now decided to sell it.

Internally, the residence has fine marble details and beautiful wooden floors.
The dining room walls are painted citrus yellow, the singer’s favorite shade. Other highlights include a double-height living room, where Mercury kept the grand piano he used to compose “Bohemian Rhapsody.” The garden is full of magnolias.
